About Velarus
Built by obsession. Driven by vision.
Since 1987, Velarus has refused the ordinary. Founded by master engineer Wilhelm Velten in a Stuttgart workshop, our marque has remained independent, family-owned, and uncompromisingly focused on a single pursuit: the most complete driving machines in the world.
Today, we operate 47 ateliers across 28 countries, employ 4,200 craftspeople, and deliver fewer than 6,000 vehicles each year — each one a singular expression of engineering, design and human attention.
1987
The workshop
Wilhelm Velten founds Velarus in Stuttgart with twelve engineers and one conviction: a great car is hand-finished, not assembled.
2003
The first hybrid
The V1 Hyra debuts — the world's first hybrid hypercar, paired with a 9.2-second Nürburgring lap, still referenced today.
2014
Global ateliers
Expansion to 28 countries. Each atelier hand-finishes, paints and certifies vehicles to the Stuttgart benchmark.
2023
Electric era
Launch of the Stellaris EV — a 920 HP electric grand tourer with 520-mile range. Carbon-neutral manufacturing achieved.
